The Girls Circle Facilitator Training is an experiential workshop that provides adults with a solid, progressive framework of applicable skills to facilitate gender-specific programs for girls. It is attended by service providers, educators, school counselors, probation officers, social workers, mental health workers, & others who support girls’ growth and development. Credits include: 14 CE's for LCSW's in NASW-approved states, STC's for Corrections staff in California, CE's for registered nurses in California, and one college credit through Sonoma State University. For more information, view the training agenda or call (707) 794-9477.

The Council Facilitator Training
The Council (previously Boys Council) a project of GCA / Tides, is a strengths-based group approach to promote boys’ and young men’s safe, strong and healthy passage through pre-teen and adolescent years. The Council Facilitator Trainings will provide an in-depth description of boys and young men’s identity formation and a model to ignite their potential to revision a hopeful, empowered life through the context of a secure and caring community of male peers and adults. Stressors, messages, and conditions that influence boys’ and young men’s self-concept and behaviors, as well as risk and resiliency factors in male adolescent development will be presented. Participants will gain a direct experience of a Council session with each of its components. Additionally, in The Council training, a particular focus will be on meeting the unique needs, demands and behaviors of boys, which are most successful with a good balance of activities, structure, fun, and engaging discussions.
